Procter & Gamble acquired Ambi Pur, the air care business of Sara Lee, for $470 million

Jones Day advised The Procter & Gamble Co. ("P&G") in its purchase of Sara Lee's Ambi Pur Business for EU 320 million ($470 million). Ambi Pur is a leading global air care brand with presence in 80 countries, as well as several toilet care products with strong presence in Western Europe and Asia.

In addition to M&A representation, Jones Day provided antitrust advice regarding this transaction. The transaction involved reviews by the European Commission (following referral from several Member States) and competition law authorities in Austria, Albania, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Hungary, Italy, Jersey, Macedonia, Poland, Serbia, and Slovakia. Ultimately, unconditional antitrust clearances were obtained in all jurisdictions, and the transaction closed in July 2010.
