Selien Coolen focuses her practice on general corporate litigation matters and civil proceedings, including before the Enterprise Chamber of the Amsterdam Court of Appeal. Her experience covers complex commercial disputes, shareholder disputes, directors' and professional liability, contract law, and disputes related to breach of contract, tort, and damage claims. Selien also advises on life sciences, particularly the medical device, pharmaceutical, and biotechnology sectors.
Selien's recent engagements include representing Nuon Power Projects in claiming damages due to negligent dredging by Boskalis, representing a client in numerous legal proceedings involving a dispute over the directorship of three offshore funds, and representing MKB Ondernemers in a matter against TomTom concerning the explanation of a co-existence agreement.
In addition, Selien assists clients on matters involving the full life cycle of medical products, from pre-market authorizations and conformity assessments to marketing and post-market issues, including distribution and compliance matters.
Prior to joining Jones Day in 2015, Selien worked as a court clerk at the Civil Department of the Court of Maastricht and the Court of Amsterdam.
