Jones Day names Joe Goldman Partner-in-Charge of Europe

Jones Day announced the appointment of Joseph A. Goldman as Partner-in-Charge of Europe. Jones Day has 650 lawyers practicing in Amsterdam, Brussels, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, London, Madrid, Milan, Munich, and Paris.  The Firm's lawyers in Europe, working with colleagues across the world, advise clients on corporate and restructuring transactions, real estate, governance, litigation and arbitration, antitrust and competition law, and complex regulatory, intellectual property, environmental, labor, and tax matters. Mr. Goldman succeeds Mary Ellen Powers, who served in this role from 2011.

Mr. Goldman also serves as Tax Practice Leader and is a member of Jones Day's Partnership and Advisory Committees. With 35 years of experience advising on the tax and business aspects of financial and international transactions, Mr. Goldman's practice touches all aspects of global tax planning for large multinational companies, strategic investors, and private equity clients.  He has provided tax advice on transactions worth hundreds of billions of dollars in the aggregate and led legal entity restructurings and combinations around the world.

A Columbia Law School graduate, Mr. Goldman also earned an LL.M. in Taxation from New York University. He has received national recognition from Chambers, Best Lawyers of America, Legal 500, Lawdragon, Euromoney's Tax Expert Guide and others.
