After a long tradition of serving clients in major transactional and litigation matters in Florida, Jones Day opened the Miami Office in May 2013. It has since grown in size to over 30 lawyers, many of whom are Miami natives. Our Miami lawyers advise a wide range of U.S., Latin American, and other multinational clients in a variety of sectors—such as energy, health care, financial services, infrastructure, real estate, and manufacturing—on domestic and cross-border matters. Our practices include M&A, Private Equity, Capital Markets, Banking & Finance, Projects & Infrastructure, Business Restructuring & Reorganization, Real Estate, Business & Tort Litigation, Global Disputes, Investigations & White Collar Defense, Financial Institutions and Regulations, and Health Care.

Our Miami Office serves as a strategic gateway for clients doing business in both Latin America and the United States. Our lawyers have a distinctive cultural understanding of the concerns for Latin American clients entering the U.S. market and for U.S. clients expanding into Latin America. Our office coordinates closely on domestic matters with the Firm's 18 other U.S. offices, one of the largest networks of offices in the United States. Jones Day Miami also forms an integral part of the Firm's Latin America practice, which includes more than 130 lawyers working in key offices in the United States, Mexico, Brazil, and Spain.

While committed to our global presence, we are just as committed to the City of Miami. We take pride in participating in pro bono, public service, cultural, and civic organizations that are a part of the fabric of our community. A substantial percentage of the pro bono hours contributed by our lawyers is devoted to representing mothers with children as well as unaccompanied children in cases arising from the flood of refugees seeking refuge in the United States from violence in Central America. The Miami Office supports Americans for Immigrant Justice, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, United Way, U.S. Attorney/Miami-Dade County Schools Violence Reduction Partnership, Junior Orange Bowl, and the Human Rights Watch.
