Ansgar Rempp, the Firm's Germany Partner-in-Charge, focuses his practice on cross-border M&A and private equity transactions, post-M&A disputes, and high-stakes investigations and compliance matters.

Representative cross-border transactions include: Plastic Omnium's acquisition of ams Osram's Automotive Lighting Systems business, Hilti's acquisition of Fieldwire, EMERAM's sale of Meona Group, Fosun's acquisition of FFT, SAP's $8 billion acquisition of Qualtrics, Procter & Gamble's €3.375 billion acquisition of the worldwide consumer health business of Merck, the €2 billion takeover and subsequent taking private of GfK by KKR, WL Ross' sale of its majority stake in VTG AG, and MAHLE's sale of its thermostat business to ADMETOS.

In 2022, Ansgar led a team of Jones Day lawyers to a landmark victory in an ICC arbitration dismissing in their entirety multibillion EUR breach of contract and tort claims brought by BASF relating to the divestments that Bayer made in connection with its $66 billion acquisition of Monsanto.

Ansgar has been the chairman of the supervisory board of several clients, including more than a decade for tier 1 automotive supplier Harman Becker Automotive Systems.

Ansgar was named a leading senior M&A partner in JUVE's Handbook 2023/2024, one of only 24 lawyers to be so recognized. In 2017, he was named Transatlantic Dealmaker of the Year by the American Lawyer, the first German lawyer so recognized.
