U.S. SEC Finalizes Climate Disclosure Rules

As discussed in a recent Jones Day Alert, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission ("SEC") adopted long-awaited climate-related disclosure rules on March 6, 2024. On March 19, 2024, Jones Day attorneys will discuss, among other things, the SEC climate rules as part of the Firm's Public Company Speaker Series. To register, click here.

The rules are already subject to challenge by 13 states that filed Petitions for Review with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth and Eleventh Circuits. See, e.g., West Virginia v. U.S. SECWe expect more challenges to the rules in the coming weeks.
