Saputo divests majority stake in Argentina operations

Client(s) Saputo Inc.

Jones Day is advising Saputo Inc. (TSX: SAP) in the sale of a majority interest in its Argentina dairy division to Gloria Foods, the dairy and food holding company of Grupo Gloria, at an enterprise value of $630 million. The Argentina dairy division includes two manufacturing facilities and local brands, including La Paulina, Ricrem, and Molfino. Saputo will retain 20% ownership in the Argentina dairy division.

The closing of the transaction is subject to customary conditions.
