Vivint acquired by Blackstone for $2 billion

Jones Day advised Vivint, Vivint Solar, and 2GIG Technologies in their acquisition by Blackstone for more than $2 billion. Vivint is the largest home automation services company and second largest residential security services provider in North America. Vivint Solar is an innovative provider of solar solutions that leverages the power purchase agreement (PPA) model to offer affordable solar power to residential customers throughout North America, and 2GIG Technologies is a developer of industry-leading security and automation equipment for the residential and small commercial markets.

Blackstone acquired the companies from their existing shareholders, including Goldman Sachs, Peterson Partners, Jupiter Partners, and other minority shareholders.

In addition to M&A representation, Jones Day provided antitrust, banking, capital markets, private equity, employee benefits, and tax advice regarding this transaction.
