Jones Day advised The Sherwin-Williams Company, an American Fortune 500 company primarily engaged in the manufacture, distribution, and sale of coatings and related products to professional, industrial, commercial, and retail customers, in connection with the acquisition of the Italy-based Industrial Wood Coatings business of Arch Chemicals, Inc. Headquartered in Pianoro, Italy, Arch Industrial Wood Coatings trades under the Sayerlack brand name and is a leading coatings innovator in the Joinery, Furniture, and Cabinets markets.

The transaction, for a global value of 40 million Euro, involved other jurisdictions additionally to Italy such as France, Singapore, Spain, U.K. and the U.S.

In addition to M&A representation, Jones Day advised on the labor and tax aspects of this transaction.
