Dr. Christian Paul represents clients in patent litigation and complex technology-related litigation. Christian combines a rare double qualification as an attorney and natural scientist — he graduated in computational chemistry on the use of artificial intelligence in drug discovery and has training in the fields of technical chemistry, organic chemistry, and biochemistry. His practice focuses on the resolution of disputes over chemical, pharmaceutical, and biotechnological patents, software, computer technology, and industrial high-tech applications.
For more than 20 years, Christian has served as trial counsel for international clients in litigation involving a wide range of patents, including biotechnology and pharmaceutical products, diagnostics, polymers, and chemical products, as well as complex software and technology-related litigation including misappropriation of trade secrets and cross-border discovery. Further to his doctorate degree in law, Christian is qualified as a German certified IP expert (Fachanwalt für Gewerblichen Rechtsschutz).
Christian is the author of a number of articles on software/informatics, medical science/pharmacology, and intellectual property law. He is a member of the German Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (GRUR), the Licensing Executives Society (LES), the Association of Intellectual Property Experts (VPP), and the Munich Dispute Resolution Forum (IDPR).
