Adam Hollingsworth, a former state and federal prosecutor, represents companies in internal and government investigations, criminal prosecutions, False Claims Act litigation, and cybersecurity incidents. He helps clients successfully navigate "bet the company" matters and is a trusted advisor whose judgement is sought during the most difficult of circumstances.
As an Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA), he prosecuted investment and securities fraud, health care fraud, money laundering, bribery, embezzlement, identity theft, immigration fraud, violent crime, and narcotics trafficking cases.
Among his trial victories as an AUSA, Adam successfully convicted four defendants after a month-long trial of defrauding 500 investors in a $10 million medical device fraud scheme; convicted the owner of a construction company who paid kickbacks in exchange for the payment of millions in false invoices; convicted multiple individuals who had engaged in fraud to secure U.S. citizenship; and convicted violent felons whose activities endangered the community. Adam also prosecuted a former Cleveland Browns football player who stole charitable donations from a nonprofit organization, and he prosecuted the largest indictment in the history of the Northern District of Ohio, securing a guilty plea from all 72 defendants involved in a massive drug trafficking conspiracy.
Adam also served in the Massachusetts Attorney General's Office, where he negotiated a landmark settlement agreement that made iTunes accessible to blind customers.
Adam maintains an active pro bono practice, including conducting internal investigations on behalf of local nonprofit institutions and representing individuals through a collaboration with the Cleveland State University Wrongful Conviction Clinic.
