Start-Up Know-How: Funding Sources and Considerations, and Leveraging IP

Jones Day and our Women in Bio group are pleased to invite you to a panel discussion about funding sources, leveraging intellectual property to secure funding, and preparing for corporate and IP due diligence to secure funding for start-ups and other ventures. 

In this program, our panelists will share their insights on early-stage company investing, including the dos and don'ts for start-ups. Jeanne Iasella of Innovation Works, along with Jones Day lawyers experienced in the venture capital market, U.S. government funding, and IP spaces, will discuss the following: 

• The types of investments being done;
• Typical provisions in venture capital and government contracts;
• Recommendations for obtaining funding; and
• The importance of leveraging IP to secure funding. 

We will also provide practical guidance on funding sources and will address best practices for preparing for IP and corporate due diligence conducted by venture capital companies. The reception following the discussion will allow early-stage companies to share their experiences and engage with the panelists.
