Joe Farley has prosecuted patent applications involving mechanical, electrical, biomedical, computer, and communication-related technologies across a range of industries, with numerous successful arguments before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB).

Prior to joining Jones Day in 2018, Joe was a law clerk at the U.S. Court of Federal Claims where he researched and drafted opinions that addressed intellectual property, federal income taxation, Fifth Amendment taking, vaccination, government contract, and bid protest claims. He also has worked as a project engineer and mechanical engineer, designing industrial equipment primarily for applications in the oil and gas industry.
