Jones Day's Dan McMillan among Law360's MVPs for 2025

Dan McMillan, a leader in Jones Day's global construction practice, has been named a Law360 MVP for the second time. The MVP list is the legal news service's annual selection of leading lawyers in a range of practice and industry categories.

With a practice focusing on complex commercial, business, and construction litigation and transactions, Mr. McMillan represents owners, design professionals, and contractors in large construction disputes and in negotiating and drafting the full panoply of contracts for large projects.  His recent achievements include securing more than $370 million for Kiewit across two ICC arbitration phases and winning dismissal in a separate New York lawsuit alleging confidentiality breaches; averting a forced re-bid of Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority's (Metro) $730 million contract needed for the 2028 U.S. Olympics; and winning a multi-million dollar settlement with architect and subconsultants on a time-sensitive pre-Olympics train maintenance yard case for Metro.

Mr. McMillan was also recognized by Best Lawyers in America as the 2023 "Lawyer of the Year" Los Angeles for Construction Litigation.
