SunPower acquires PowerLight for $332 million

Jones Day advised SunPower Corporation, a Silicon Valley-based manufacturer of the world's highest-efficiency, commercially available solar cells and solar panels, in its $332.5 million acquisition of PowerLight Corporation. PowerLight, based in Berkeley, California, is a leading global provider of large-scale solar power systems, having designed and deployed hundreds of large-scale solar systems with a total capacity of more than 100 megawatts over the past ten years. The combined company has approximately 1,600 employees in ten sales offices and four manufacturing locations worldwide. In addition to M&A representation, Jones Day provided antitrust and environmental law advice regarding this transaction.
