Hikvision successfully dismisses patent suit involving security systems

Jones Day successfully represented Hikvision USA Inc. in dismissing claims of patent infringement in a case brought by Richman Technology Corp. in the Central District of California. Plaintiff alleged that certain of Hikvision’s security systems infringed the claims of United States Patent Nos. 8,350,698; 8,981,933; and 9,449,484. The invention in the asserted patents relates to the field of network security systems, and more particularly to a network alert system that generates real time messages to the system when triggered by a security camera.
