SAP wins antitrust approvals worldwide for acquisition of Business Objects

Jones Day assisted SAP AG in acquiring Business Objects SA, a leading provider of business intelligence software, for a total of EUR 4.8 billion (USD 6.8 billion). SAP is headquartered in Walldorf, Germany, and has a strong presence in the U.S., throughout Europe, and in Asia. The company develops and markets a broad range of enterprise application products for corporations, government agencies and educational institutions. A team of Jones Day lawyers in Europe, the U.S., and Asia assisted SAP with regulatory approvals, which included obtaining Phase I merger control approvals by the U.S. Department of Justice and the European Commission, merger clearances in several other jurisdictions, as well as advice regarding IP/IT issues.
