Experian resolves proposed Florida class action alleging violations of Driver's Privacy Protection Act

After years of litigation, Experian Information Solutions, Inc. reached a mutually agreeable settlement in a privacy lawsuit in Miami federal court. The lawsuit alleged that the defendants, including Jones Day client Experian, violated the federal Driver's Privacy Protection Act (DPPA), which regulates how personal information derived from motor vehicle records in state DMVs can and cannot be used.
