Jones Day Partner Yvette McGee Brown Named to Inspiring Women List by Columbus Monthly

Jones Day Partner Yvette McGee Brown has been recognized among Columbus Monthly's Inspiring Women for 2026. The honor reflects a career defined by an unwavering commitment to public service, the pursuit of justice, and advocacy for children and families.

Ms. McGee Brown represents clients in appellate and litigation matters spanning a wide range of issues and industries, as well as government investigations involving police or corporate misconduct. She also advises clients on inclusion, Title VII, and Title IX matters, and has considerable experience navigating high-profile and time-sensitive matters, including those involving public corruption, discrimination, regulatory enforcement, and constitutional challenges. As Jones Day's Partner-in-Charge of Inclusion & Advancement, Ms. McGee Brown works with the Firm's leadership on inclusion strategies and frequently advises clients on inclusion-related initiatives.

Prior to joining the Firm, Ms. McGee Brown made history as the first African American woman to serve as a justice on the Ohio Supreme Court (2011- 2012) and as a judge on the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas (1993 - 2002). In 2002 she resigned from the bench to create the Center for Family Safety and Healing at Nationwide Children's Hospital, furthering her lifelong dedication to protecting children and families.
