Samantha Silver is ranked Band 1 in Chambers UK for both defendant product liability and for life sciences. Chambers 2025 says "she's brilliant and very personable; she has an enormous practical business sense."

Samantha advises on a wide range of product-related matters, often in high-profile and commercially sensitive matters. She has led landmark cases that shaped the development of product liability law in the United Kingdom and the European Union. Prior to joining Jones Day in 2025, she headed the team that successfully defended the DePuy Pinnacle Metal-on-Metal Hip Litigation, a complex product liability group action culminating in a seminal judgment in the High Court (Gee & Others v DePuy International Limited), and the team that successfully defended medical device manufacturers in the UK Supreme Court (Hastings v Finsbury Orthopaedics Ltd (1) and Stryker UK Ltd (2)).

The work she does spans all sectors, focusing on life sciences, cosmetics, chemicals, and general consumer goods. Samantha assists clients with public inquiries, regulatory risks, and product liability matters, including group litigation and mass tort claims, as well as coordinating international defense strategies. She also has advised on a range of product safety matters involving cross-border regulatory issues and corrective actions.

Samantha is a regular speaker at industry events, including at the International Consumer Product Health and Safety Organization (ICPHSO) and MedTech Summits, and has authored numerous publications, contributing to the International Comparative Legal Guide and to Chambers Practice Guides.
