Jones Day’s Shireen Matthews Named to San Diego Business Journal’s 2026 Women of Influence in Law

Jones Day partner Shireen Matthews has been named to the San Diego Business Journal's 2026 Women of Influence in Law list, which recognizes women whose leadership and expertise shape San Diego's legal community.

 

Ms. Matthews is the Partner-in-Charge of Jones Day's San Diego Office and a member of the Firm's Investigations & White Collar Defense Practice. A former federal prosecutor, she served as Criminal Health Care Fraud Coordinator for the U.S. Attorney's Office in San Diego.

 

Ms. Matthews serves on the boards of Scripps Health and Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Diego. She also chaired the Magistrate Judge Merit Selection Panel and is a past president of the San Diego chapters of the South Asian Bar Association and Federal Bar Association. A first-generation lawyer, she is committed to mentoring law students and junior attorneys.

Jones Day’s Gurneet Singh Named President of the South Asian Bar Association of Northern California

Gurneet Singh is the new president of the South Asian Bar Association of Northern California (SABA-NC), which has a distinguished history of 33 years. SABA-NC supports professional development, mentorship, networking, pro bono service, charitable giving, and leadership initiatives, and has long served the South Asian legal community as well as the broader profession and community in Northern California. Mr. Singh was recognized for his new leadership role at SABA-NC’s 30th Annual Gala on March 28, 2026.

 

Mr. Singh is an intellectual property lawyer in Jones Day’s Silicon Valley Office and a member of the Firm’s Intellectual Property Practice.
