GOJO Industries winds down its European operations via pan European court-supervised proceedings

Jones Day advised GOJO Industries, a leading global producer and distributor of hand sanitiser, in connection with the underperformance of its European business. Jones Day led an extensive strategic review of GOJO’s European operations to identify a sustainable path forward. The review considered a range of options, including operational turnaround measures and a potential sale. However, as none of these options were deemed viable to ensure the long term sustainability of GOJO Europe, the process culminated in various court-supervised wind-down proceedings for each of its European operations in England, France, Spain, Portugal, Luxembourg, and Switzerland. Jones Day also advised the administrators and, subsequently, the liquidators - Alastair Beveridge and Daniel Imison of AlixPartners - of the English domiciled parent of the European group.
