Michael Fu advises public and private companies on corporate law matters. He has represented clients in domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, venture capital and growth financings, and other strategic transactions. In addition, he has experience advising companies on corporate governance matters.

Michael represents public companies, middle-market private companies, and start-up companies alike and is most active in the technology (including fintech, software, and semiconductor), automotive, life sciences, health care, energy, and real estate industries. Recent representations include Astellas Pharma in its $5.9 billion acquisition of Iveric Bio and Meridian Bioscience in its $1.53 billion sale to SD Biosensor and SJL Partners. Other representative matters include transactions involving Five9, NGK Spark Plugs, Intel, Horizon Global, Organon, Sempra Energy, and NerdWallet. In addition, Michael completed a client secondment in the legal department of a multinational automobile manufacturer, where he advised on data privacy issues and general compliance matters.

Michael also maintains an active pro bono practice, assisting nonprofits in their corporate governance matters and representing survivors of human trafficking in acquiring various forms of relief.
