Sushma Jobanputra is Partner-in-Charge of the Singapore Office and a senior member of the Firm's Financial Markets Practice. With more than 30 years of experience across London, Paris, Toronto, and Singapore, she advises clients on the full spectrum of banking, finance, and restructuring matters, including acquisition and leveraged finance, structured and syndicated lending, special situations, and complex cross-border restructurings, as well as providing critical support with regulatory compliance.
The clients she serves include leading international banks, financial sponsors, and global corporates operating throughout Asia, particularly in Singapore, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, and the Philippines. She combines deep legal experience with first-hand business insight gained from her tenure as a managing director in the structured transactions group at Barclays Capital in London.
Beyond her client work, Sushma plays an active role in Singapore's legal and academic community. She sits on the Law Advisory Council of the National University of Singapore Faculty of Law, the Expert Panel of the Singapore Management University Centre for Commercial Law in Asia, and the Foreign Lawyers Advisory Panel of the Law Society of Singapore.
Her practice reflects technical depth, cultural fluency, and a global perspective in advising clients across borders and industries.
