Jason Chen's practice focuses on commercial disputes, arbitration, and intellectual property disputes. He served as a Taiwan District Court judge for almost 10 years adjudicating criminal and civil cases and was certified as the first professional intellectual property law judge by the Taiwan Judicial Yuan in 2002. Jason has led litigation teams and has handled prominent cases that include serving as lead counsel and securing a favorable judgment for a publicly listed petrochemical company in its defense of a patent infringement claim of US$100 million, which is the highest claim in Taiwan's history. He is Partner-in-Charge of the Taipei Office.

Jason also has represented: one of Taiwan's top financial companies in its hostile attempt to acquire and take over another Taiwanese securities company, as well as in disputes related to corporate governance liability; a leading global Taiwanese company in successfully implementing defense strategies against an unsolicited tender offer; and a client in a high-profile arbitral and litigation proceeding, in which he obtained a favorable judgment in a US$257 million shareholder agreement dispute case. Jason's practice covers a wide range of other areas, including public construction, competition law, debt collection, product liability, white collar crime, and insider trading.

Jason has served as the co-chairman on the Intellectual Property Protection and Licensing Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce in Taipei (AmCham) since October 2005 and as director of the IP Law Committee of the Taipei Bar Association since 2006.

He has been honored for many years as a leading lawyer by internationally recognized legal guides for his IP and commercial-related litigation experience.
