Ashvi Patel

Ashvi Patel is an intellectual property lawyer whose practice focuses on patent litigation and other high-stakes intellectual property disputes. Her experience spans a broad range of technologies, including medical devices, pharmaceuticals, PCR (polymerase chain reaction) and molecular diagnostic testing technologies, spinal implants, artificial intelligence, telecommunications, life sciences, and safety and food processing equipment.

Ashvi has represented clients in patent disputes before the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC), federal district courts, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office's (USPTO) Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB), and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. She has experience across all stages of litigation, including fact and expert discovery, depositions, claim construction, infringement and invalidity analyses, motion practice, trial preparation, and appeals.

Ashvi is registered to practice before the USPTO. Drawing on her technical background, she also advises clients on domestic and international patent prosecution matters and intellectual property portfolio strategy.

Prior to obtaining her law degree, Ashvi leveraged her chemical and biomedical engineering degrees to gain significant industry experience with medical devices and pharmaceutical formulations. Ashvi is a member of the Firm's Women in IP initiative. She also maintains an active pro bono practice involving clemency matters in Pennsylvania and the Firm's Border Project, advocating for asylum seekers fleeing violence in their home countries.
