Client(s) Public International Law & Policy Group ("PILPG")

The Public International Law and Policy Group ("PILPG") solicited a report for the government of Kosovo regarding judicial accountability standards and best practices in Europe. An international Jones Day team from multiple offices drafted this report analyzing the ways in which governments in Bulgaria, Russia, the Czech Republic, Spain, and Italy manage issues regarding judicial independence, judicial discipline, and judicial integrity. The report discussed the current state of judicial accountability in these countries, explored the current systems and procedures in place to ensure judicial accountability and independence, analyzed proposed judicial reforms, and discussed the debates regarding judicial reforms. It was submitted to PILPG in mid-June. The Jones Day team was led by Chad Readler and Elizabeth Radigan (Columbus), and included Laura Tuell Parcher (Washington), Elena Bojilova (Dallas), Mercedes Abad (Madrid), Stefano Macchi de Cellere, Sara Rizzon, and Francesca Ravallese (Milan), Kyrill Farbmann and Marcus Pollard (Brussels).
