Jones Day represented PinnacleHealth System and Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center as antitrust counsel in the hospitals' proposed merger. The hospitals won a district court decision denying a request from the Federal Trade Commission and Pennsylvania attorney general for an injunction blocking the merger, but decided not to pursue the merger following a Third Circuit decision ordering the district court to grant the injunction.
