Chevron defends against lawsuit relating to accidental fire at California refinery

Jones Day represented Chevron Corporation and Chevron U.S.A. Inc. in defense of a lawsuit filed by the City of Richmond relating to an accidental fire that occurred at CUSA's Richmond (California) refinery in August 2012. After defeating the City’s strict liability and tax loss claims at the summary adjudication stage, the case was settled shortly before trial.
