Merial and BASF AGRO resolve patent infringement action against Virbac involving FRONTLINE® products

Jones Day obtained a settlement for Merial Limited and BASF AGRO B.V., Arnheim (NL), Wädenswil Branch, in a patent infringement action against Virbac, a French animal pharmaceutical company, in the Northern District of Texas. The suit involved a patent that covers the active ingredient in Merial's FRONTLINE® brand flea and tick products, which are among the world's most successful animal health products, accounting for over $1 billion in sales in 2009.
