SCI and others defend against complaint alleging violations of unpaid overtime

Jones Day represented employer in this nationwide collection action filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California on behalf of individuals who filed untimely consent forms to opt into the Prise v. Alderwoods FLSA case in the Western District of Pennsylvania. The complaint alleges violations of the FLSA by Alderwoods Groups, Inc., Service Corporation International, and certain SCI subsidiaries and employees as a result of allegedly unpaid overtime work. The Court transferred the case to the Western District of Pennsylvania in June 2008 and the Defendants have currently pending a motion to dismiss claims.
