
M&A Lawyer Bret Stancil joins Jones Day as partner in Silicon Valley
M&A lawyer Bret Stancil has joined Jones Day as a partner in the Corporate Practice. He is based in the Firm's Silicon Valley Office.
Mr. Stancil advises leading corporate and private equity clients on significant mergers and acquisitions transactions, as well as related corporate matters. He represents private and public companies across a wide range of industries, such as technology and software, life sciences, internet and digital media, and retail and consumer products. Mr. Stancil's primary areas of focus include public and private mergers, acquisitions, dispositions, carve-outs, and leveraged buyouts. Some of his recent M&A deals in the technology space include the $12 billion acquisition of a customer engagement and marketing platform, the $7 billion acquisition of a leading consumer fintech platform, and the $6 billion equity investment by a private equity fund into a data center company.
"Bret has worked on some of the most important M&A deals in the technology space, including major acquisitions in the fintech and data center sectors, as well as key M&A deals in the internet and digital media and life sciences industries on behalf of both strategic and financial buyers," said Randi Lesnick, co-leader of Jones Day’s Corporate Practice. At Jones Day, Mr. Stancil joins the Firm's global Corporate Practice, which encompasses M&A and Private Equity. In the last five years, Jones Day has advised clients on more than 3,000 M&A transactions collectively valued at $1.5 trillion, and many of the world's leading private equity funds are counseled by Jones Day in the full range of corporate transactions.

Mr. Stancil earned his law degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and his undergraduate degree from the University of Nevada.
