Four Jones Day lawyers named to Global Competition Review "Women in Antitrust" list

Four Jones Day partners—Charlotte Breuvart, Lin Kahn, Julie McEvoy, and Koren Wong-Ervin—have been named to Global Competition Review's "Women in Antitrust" list. This recognition celebrates women who have made significant contributions to the field of antitrust law.

Charlotte Breuvart

Charlotte Breuvart is a partner in the Brussels Office, where she focuses on European, French, and Belgian competition law. With extensive experience advising clients on complex antitrust, merger control, and State aid cases, Ms. Bruevart has played a pivotal role in several high-profile cross-border transactions and regulatory matters. She recently advised Ubisoft on its acquisition of cloud streaming rights for Activision games, a crucial step in Microsoft's $70 billion acquisition of Activision Blizzard, and secured the European Commission's approval of €300 million in State aid from the French State for EDF (Electricité de France) to support its NUWARDTM project, aimed at developing Small Modular Nuclear Reactors (SMRs). She also acted as an antitrust joint counsel in a number of significant energy transition projects, including a project by Eramet, Renault and Suez to create an innovative recycling solution for end-of-life lithium-ion ("Li-ion") batteries for electric vehicles in Europe and a project by Air Liquide and Fluxys to build a first-of-its-kind CO2 liquefaction terminal in Belgium to contribute to Europe's decarbonization efforts.

Lin Kahn

Lin Kahn is a partner based in the San Francisco Office, where she represents clients in complex antitrust litigation and investigations as well as in merger reviews. Ms. Kahn's practice spans a wide range of industries, including technology, pharmaceutical, and manufacturing. Her recent achievements include serving as lead attorney in several government investigations; serving as lead counsel for a divestiture buyer in the high-profile Microsoft/Activision merger litigation brought by the FTC; and winning a dismissal of a putative class action alleging unlawful monopolistic conduct involving Google Maps.

Julie McEvoy

This marks the third time that Julie McEvoy, a partner in the Washington Office, has been recognized on Global Competition Review's Women in Antitrust list. Ms. McAvoy regularly leads the defense of high-stakes antitrust investigations and class action litigation, including trying—and winning—antitrust cases in U.S. federal court. She currently serves as lead counsel to Sanofi in the defense of litigation brought by private plaintiffs, cities, counties and state attorneys general alleging that the company engaged in an illegal scheme to inflate the price of insulin products and to National Beef in its defense of individual and putative class action cases alleging that the country's largest meatpacking companies conspired to inflate the prices they charged for beef.

Koren Wong-Ervin

Koren Wong-Ervin, a partner in the Washington Office, has been recognized on Global Competition Review's Women in Antitrust list since 2016. Koren has more than 20 years of experience in government, private practice, and as in-house counsel, including representing defendants and plaintiffs in high-stakes litigations and representing companies in domestic and foreign merger and conduct investigations. While at the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), Ms. Wong-Ervin served as an Attorney Advisor to a Commissioner and as Counsel for Intellectual Property & International Antitrust. She is a recognized thought leader who has testified before Congress on domestic and international antitrust issues.
