Laura Tielemans advises a diverse group of clients on European and Belgian cybersecurity and data protection matters in areas of EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and ePrivacy Regulation (ePR) compliance. Her practice focuses on the implementation of global compliance projects, data processing agreements, direct marketing, employee data protection, and international data transfers, including obtaining approvals for binding corporate rules (BCR) and implementing standard contractual clauses (SCC). Laura handles multinational data breaches, advising clients on incident response, data breach management, notifications to data protection authorities, and other legal requirements. She also counsels clients on data protection and privacy matters in domestic and cross-border corporate transactions.

Laura has a background in domestic and cross-border litigation and commercial arbitration for major national and international corporations across a wide range of sectors including distribution, telecommunications, and technology. She also has experience negotiating and drafting commercial contracts.

Laura began her career in 2009 at the Brussels Bar and later worked for a U.S. law firm in Brussels. She also performed doctoral research on privacy issues and the freedom to conduct business at Vrije Universiteit Brussel and Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, was involved in data protection research while attending New York University, and has published peer-reviewed articles on data protection.

Laura is a member of the Legal & Taxation Committee of AmCham Belgium (American Chamber of Commerce in Belgium).
