Barnaby Stueck's practice is concentrated on multijurisdictional commercial litigation and arbitration, with particular emphasis on complex fraud, contentious insolvency, and investment fund disputes. Chambers (2016) describes him as a "phenomenal litigator" who is "super-bright and imaginative." Chambers (2017) describes him as the "real deal in terms of asset tracing work."

His recent caseload has involved acting for the St Vincent bankruptcy trustee of Harlequin Hotels in relation to its collapse and subsequent litigation; acting on complex disputes relating to a series of joint ventures for the redevelopment of a Caribbean island; advising BVI liquidators of a substantial limited partnership in relation to its dissolution, restructuring, and related litigation; acting for a private equity fund in arbitration proceedings against its placement agent; obtaining a $450m judgment for the liquidators of Weavering Capital, the failed hedge fund manager, in their fraud proceedings against former directors and employees; advising the chapter 11 trustee of six Cayman Islands hedge funds relating to their bankruptcy; and advising an AIM-listed property investment company in relation to multijurisdictional proceedings against its directors and investment manager.

Barnaby leads the Firm's Offshore Disputes subpractice and has appeared as counsel before the Grand Court of the Cayman Islands. His recent cases have involved the Cayman Islands, British Virgin Islands, St. Vincent & the Grenadines, Jersey, Guernsey, Bermuda, Bahamas, Isle of Man, St. Kitts & Nevis, Gibraltar, Qatar, U.A.E., France, Turkey, Ukraine, Estonia, Latvia, Serbia, Switzerland, and Russia.

Barnaby trained at Jones Day but also has worked for a pre-eminent Cayman Islands law firm.
