Representative transactions include advising Euricom on its acquisition of Marbour Food's dry rice business; Aurora Resurgence on its sale of the Alltub Group to OEP; Arsenal Capital Partners on the sale of IGM Resins to Astorg; HighBrook Investors on a series of transactions in the Netherlands, including the acquisition of listed Groothandelsgebouwen N.V.; and The Timken Company on its acquisition of Groeneveld Group ($280 million).
Bastiaan also has advised CreditAccess Asia, a micro-finance institution active primarily in India and SEA, on a complex €95.4 million (US$102.8 million) multi-investor investment round; Hermes Microvision on its sale to ASML Holding ($3.1 billion); Musim Mas Europe on the acquisition of the largest crude glycerin refining unit at a single location in the world; Global City Holdings on its stock repurchase and subsequent delisting ($265 million); NEP Group in a series of acquisitions throughout Europe; BioMarin Pharmaceutical on its acquisition of Prosensa ($680 million); and Tokyo Electron on its proposed merger of equals with Applied Materials ($29 billion).
In addition, Bastiaan has been working on several high-profile litigation matters, including advising expropriated SNS Reaal bondholders seeking compensation from the Dutch State in connection with the nationalization of Dutch bancassurer SNS and advising a number of related investment funds in a dispute before the Enterprise Division of the Amsterdam Court of Appeal concerning a dilutive rights offering by Delta Lloyd N.V.
