Jean-Michel Bobillo's practice focuses on counseling and litigation aspects of French labor and employment law matters. He advises clients on labor and employment law issues that arise in mergers and acquisitions; outsourcings; reorganizations, particularly in the context of the application of TUPE regulations (Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment)); restructurings; dismissals based on economic grounds; employee representation; work-related diseases; and negotiation of separation agreements with senior executives.
Jean-Michel also represents employers in litigation trials relating to dismissals based on restructurings and plant closures, on personal grounds such as misconduct and professional insufficiency, as well as proceedings relating to work-related diseases.
His client representations mainly include companies In the industrial and chemical/life sciences sectors, such as Rhodia/Solvay, Sanofi-Aventis, Novartis, and Cardinal Health; the commercial sector such as Newell Rubbermaid; as well as biotech and internet/software provider companies.
Jean-Michel's recent representations include French and multijurisdictional transactions on the seller's as well as the buyer's side for several industrial/pharmacy/life sciences companies, as well as "class action style" mass litigation (more than 150 claimants) following a plant closure based on economic conditions, litigation against key company officers claiming misclassification and reclassification of their management office as employment, and the defense of multiple claims litigation relating to alleged work-related diseases.
