David DiMeglio's practice focuses on complex civil litigation, particularly toxic torts and product liability, with an emphasis on disputes arising out of Latin America. Over the last 30 years, he has defended mass tort and other cases across the U.S. and coordinated the defense in foreign, parallel proceedings for clients in the energy, oil & gas, mining, pharmaceuticals, electronics, agriculture, manufacturing, and consumer products industries. David also has defended against claimed violations of federal and state environmental laws, including Proposition 65; breach of contract; fraud; unfair business practices; employment discrimination; and wrongful termination. He is Partner-in-Charge of the Los Angeles Office.

David's trial experience includes a high-profile case for IBM involving complex issues of chemical exposure and alleged health effects. After a five-month trial, the California jury returned a unanimous defense verdict, recognized as one of the top defense verdicts of 2004. He also was trial counsel for Dole in a closely watched trial involving foreign plaintiffs who claimed their exposure to a pesticide caused sterility. The jury returned a defense verdict for half the plaintiffs, and post-trial rulings knocked out the rest. David co-leads the defense of a major energy company battling a fraudulent multibillion dollar judgment in Ecuador and related foreign judgment enforcement proceedings. He has led internal investigations in multiple countries.

David co-leads a firmwide pro bono initiative representing mostly women and unaccompanied children in immigration and asylum proceedings. He is on the board of the Constitutional Rights Foundation, promoting our youth's active and responsible civic participation.
