U.S. Steel prevails on majority of claims in three-week bench trial in Western District of Pennsylvania

Client(s) United States Steel Corporation

Jones Day client United States Steel Corporation ("U.S. Steel") prevailed at trial on the majority of claims brought by its longtime construction and dismantling contractor, Allied Consolidated Industries ("Allied"). The parties held a three-week bench trial, held remotely due to COVID-19 restrictions, before the Western District of Pennsylvania. Allied alleged that U. S. Steel had breached the parties' contracts for certain construction and demolition work performed at U. S. Steel plants across the United States. U. S. Steel prevailed on the majority of the nearly four dozen claims that Allied brought, including claims that were disposed of at the motion to dismiss and summary judgment stages.
