Jones Day's David Kiernan named "Leading Commercial Litigator" by the Daily Journal

Jones Day's Partner-in-Charge of Northern California and accomplished trial lawyer David Kiernan was named to the Daily Journal's list of "Leading Commercial Litigators," which acknowledges prominent commercial litigators handling some of the most consequential cases in California.

His selection was based on several recent high-profile representations involving some of the most recognizable global companies. These achievements include winning a dismissal of an antitrust class action challenging Google's licensing restrictions for its digital-mapping products on appeal; serving as lead trial counsel for Sutter Health in an antitrust class action spanning over a decade, which included two Ninth Circuit appeals and a unanimous jury verdict; serving as lead counsel for Procter & Gamble in the first-ever public nuisance lawsuit filed against manufacturers of plastic packaging, in which Jones Day successfully resolved claims; and serving lead counsel for Sir Jony Ive and his company LoveFrom in a trademark dispute filed in the Northern District of California.

Mr. Kiernan is the Partner-in-Charge of Jones Day's Northern California Region, Head of Litigation for the San Francisco Office, and Co-Client Affairs Partner for the entire Firm. Mr. Kiernan has been recognized by Daily Journal as a Top Antitrust Lawyer for four out of the last five years and to its "Leading National Litigators" list in 2025.
