Meyer Bergman purchases new Westfield shopping center in Bradford

Client(s) Meyer Bergman, Ltd.

Jones Day represented Meyer Bergman, Ltd., a European real estate investment and fund management firm, in connection with its forward purchase of a new 70 store, 550,000 square foot shopping center to be constructed in Bradford city center by Australian retail developer Westfield Group and to be anchored by stores Debenhams, M&S, and Next.

The purchase will be made through Meyer Bergman's newly established Meyer Bergman European Retail Partners II, a pan-European retail real estate opportunity fund and a Guernsey joint venture with Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan and another Canadian investor.

As part of the forward purchase, Westfield will be appointed to the development, design, construction, leasing, and property management roles for the new project.
