陈炽自2004年以来一直为生命科学领域的众多客户代理各类复杂的跨境知识产权事务。

陈炽经常就中国的药品专利链接制度为众多制药企业及生物技术企业提供法律建议，还经常协助客户取得橙皮书列表专利、延长专利期限以及就专利无效挑战进行抗辩等。

同时，陈炽亦为众多中国生物科技客户提供与小分子药、生物制品、基因疗法、细胞疗法、基因编辑、人工智能辅助药物发现以及核糖核酸疗法的专利保护有关的法律建议。此外，他还经常协助客户开展知识产权许可谈判，就如何缓解投资中国生物科技企业过程中的相关知识产权风险为投资者提供咨询服务等。

陈炽曾多次携手众达在美国和欧洲的诉讼律师，共同为中国的企业家及公司代理众多涉及专利侵权、美国国际贸易委员会337条款调查、商业秘密窃取和经济间谍指控的诉讼。

在攻读法律学位之前，陈炽接受了细胞生物学和分子生物学专业的系统培训。他曾在美国加州从事十余年的专利法执业，此后迁居上海。在加州期间，他曾在一家知名的特色制药公司担任内部法律顾问，并且还是硅谷一家药物发现技术公司的联合创始人。

陈炽曾在2020年和2021年担任全球知名生物医药协会 – 百华协会的主席。此外，他还曾担任中美知识产权合作对话的顾问成员、上海美国商会知识产权委员会联席主席以及上海浦东新区和苏州生物纳米科技园关于开发生物技术产业的咨询顾问。
