Lexi Smith assists clients in connection with intellectual property matters, including handling complex intellectual property litigation and the licensing of intellectual property rights. She has experience litigating cases involving patent infringement, trademark infringement, copyright infringement, false advertising, unfair competition, trade secret misappropriation, breach of contract, and other business-related torts.

Lexi recently represented a pharmaceutical company in an international arbitration involving breach of contract and trade secret misappropriation relating to insulin technology. She also represented a start-up company in a trial involving breach of contract, tortious interference with contract, and infringement of strawberry plant patents. Lexi's recent experience also includes the representation of a satellite television distributor and its component manufacturers in an action where Jones Day successfully obtained a summary judgment ruling dismissing claims of infringement against the component manufacturers, which led to a stipulated dismissal of all parties.

Lexi has also represented clients in trademark infringement actions, opposition proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB), and actions to recover domain names under the Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP) before the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) administrative panel.

Prior to practicing law, Lexi spent four years as a practicing chemical engineer.
