
Former IRS exempt organizations official Mackenzie McNaughton joins Jones Day
Mackenzie McNaughton has joined Jones Day as of counsel in the Health Care & Life Sciences Practice in the Firm's Minneapolis Office.
Ms. McNaughton has 20 years of experience working with health care entities and other tax-exempt organizations, in both private practice and as in-house counsel at government regulatory agencies. She most recently served as Senior Technical Advisor for Exempt Organizations at the Internal Revenue Service where she advised the IRS Director of Exempt Organizations and Government Entities on day-to-day legal and technical issues impacting exempt organizations. In a previous stint at the IRS, she served as a tax law specialist clarifying questions of compliance and providing implementation guidance associated with the Affordable Care Act legislation.

At Jones Day, Ms. McNaughton joins a cross-disciplinary team of lawyers who advise life sciences and health care clients on their high-stakes tax, regulatory, controversy, and transaction issues. Jones Day represents pharmaceutical, biotech, digital health, and medical device companies at all stages of development, hospitals and academic medical centers, provider organizations, health care and private equity fund investors, and food and cosmetics companies.
