Stephanie Parker is a veteran trial lawyer who has tried "bet the company" cases across the United States for three decades. Recognized by Chambers as "an eminent trial lawyer in tobacco and in pharmaceutical trials," she has served as lead counsel in some of the nation's most consequential jury trials involving product liability, mass tort, and patent disputes. Her work includes leading the team that won a complete defense verdict in the retrial of Robinson v. R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company following an initial trial (handled by another firm) that resulted in a $23.6 billion plaintiff's verdict. She also led the team that won the largest infringement verdict in U.S. history for Idenix Pharmaceuticals (Merck). For that result, the AmLaw Litigation Daily named Stephanie "Litigator of the Week." In 2025, Merck selected Stephanie to serve as lead trial lawyer in the first jury trial over Gardasil, Merck's HPV vaccine; the result was an adjournment at plaintiff's request with no money paid. She also serves as the lead lawyer on significant litigation for General Electric.
As lead trial counsel for R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company in its smoking and health jury trials, Stephanie tried every bellwether case in the Engle tobacco litigation. She was the lead lawyer in Reynolds' first state court Engle trial, which resulted in the first defense verdict in that litigation; she then led the first Engle case tried in federal court, which also ended in a defense verdict.
