Google secures remand from Federal Circuit directing PTAB to consider whether claims related to online traffic maps are unpatentable

Client(s) Google LLC

Jones Day successfully represented Google LLC at the Federal Circuit in an appeal from a decision of the Patent Trial and Appeal Board ("PTAB") concerning patent claims directed to on-line traffic maps. The Federal Circuit remanded the inter partes review ("IPR") to the PTAB for consideration of multiple unpatentability grounds that were set forth in Google's petition but on which the PTAB failed to institute an IPR.
