U.S. Bank appeals infringement and patent eligibility determinations related to patent on method of electronic check processing

Jones Day is acting as co-counsel representing U.S. Bancorp and Elavon, Inc. against allegations of infringement of Solutran, Inc.'s patent on a method of electronic check processing. The case is currently on appeal to the Federal Circuit, where Jones Day is assisting in challenging the district court's finding of infringement and also challenging the patent eligibility of Solutran's claimed invention under Section 101 of the Patent Act.
