BNSF successfully defends wrongful death claims

Client(s) BNSF Railway Company

Jones Day assisted in a two-week trial on behalf of BNSF Railway Company in Cook County asserting wrongful death claims after a train collision resulting in the death of one vehicle passenger and injury to another. After trial, the jury found in favor of BNSF on the Estate's claim. They found in favor of the other plaintiff on her claim, but BNSF was not responsible for paying any portion of the award.
