GrafTech wins dismissal of securities class action

Jones Day obtained dismissal of a securities class action lawsuit against GrafTech International, Ltd. and several of its current and former executive officers alleging violations of Sections 10(b) and 20(a) of the Exchange Act. The amended complaint alleged that GrafTech made misstatements during earnings calls and in SEC filings between February 2019 and August 2023 related to the shutdown of the Company's Monterrey, Mexico plant, the effects of the shutdown, and the extent of operations at the Company's St. Marys, Pennsylvania plant. Jones Day moved to dismiss, and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio granted the motion in full, agreeing with Jones Day's arguments for dismissal.
