Rodrigo Gómez Ballina es un abogado altamente experimentado en temas fiscales, con más de 25 años de práctica, especializado en todos los aspectos de la tributación federal e internacional mexicana. Posee una profunda experiencia en las consideraciones fiscales de fusiones y adquisiciones, reestructuraciones corporativas y temas de propiedad intelectual. También asesora a clientes en la defensa de disputas fiscales, incluyendo auditorías fiscales, medios de defensa y procesos de conciliación (acuerdos conclusivos). Rodrigo se desempeña como Socio Director de la oficina de la Ciudad de México, donde continúa brindando asesoría fiscal estratégica a importantes clientes nacionales e internacionales.

La práctica de Rodrigo se enfoca particularmente en la tributación transfronteriza desde la perspectiva mexicana. Asesora rutinariamente a subsidiarias mexicanas de corporaciones multinacionales sobre la estructuración de sus inversiones en México para maximizar la eficiencia fiscal y asegurar el cumplimiento regulatorio. Los clientes con los que Rodrigo trabaja regularmente incluyen firmas de capital privado, empresas manufactureras y automotrices, fondos soberanos y fondos de inversión. Rodrigo regularmente asesora optimizando las estructuras fiscales de inversiones en México, incluyendo el uso estratégico de maquiladoras.

Además de su trabajo de consultoría y planeación, Rodrigo tiene un historial sobresaliente representando a clientes en disputas fiscales, incluyendo auditorías, medios e defensa y negociaciones de conciliación (acuerdos conclusivos). Varios de los casos que ha liderado han resultado en decisiones relevantes por parte de la Suprema Corte de Justicia de la Nación, contribuyendo al desarrollo de la jurisprudencia fiscal en México.

Rodrigo ha publicado varios artículos en revistas fiscales en México y en el extranjero. Es autor de dos capítulos sobre temas de fiscalidad internacional en dos libros, ambos publicados en Austria.
